Create Your Own Conference

One of the new and exciting features of CACUSS 2010 is the opportunity for you to Create Your Own Conference. Topics for the last concurrent session time slot (Wednesday from 10:45 to noon) will be chosen by conference delegates during the conference. The purpose of CYOC is to provide a venue for delegates to share information on a specific issue and to brainstorm ideas on how to address common problems.

Here's how it will work:

Please note: we are no longer taking submissions for Create Your Own Conference.

  • Shortly before the start of the conference, the program planning committee will review all suggestions and compile a Top 20 list. This list may include topics that were submitted by a large number of delegates, as well as topics that are not addressed by other conference presenters.
  • The Top 20 list will be included in your registration package. You will be asked to identify, in order of priority, the three topics that interest you the most and return the list to the CACUSS registration desk by the end of the day on Monday.
  • The program planning committee will identify up to 10 topics with the most votes and announce the concurrent sessions for CYOC on Tuesday.

A facilitator for each CYOC session will be identified prior to the conference. The facilitator will not be a subject expert but rather someone who will guide a discussion during which everyone shares their expertise. We recognize that it might be difficult for some of you to choose which session to participate in, so there will also be a note taker for each one. A summary of the discussion for each session will be posted on the conference website after the conference.
